IF YOU'RE NOT BORED YET CONTINUE ON:

For DMR communication I started out by purchasing one of the
earlier models of TYT MD-9600 mobile transceivers (Shown Above).
The radio was purchased online through Amazon by a dealer called
LetsGetReady in January 2018. I got tired of moving it back and
forth to the mobile so I purchased a new TYT MD-2017 hand held
transceiver in May of 2018 (Shown below). In November of 2018 at
a ham fest D & L Electronics convinced me that there had been
some major changes (for the good) in the firmware of the MD-9600
radio so I purchased another unit to use mobile. The HT does not
have enough power for the mobile when using it on the FM mode to
hit repeaters or talk simplex for any distance. Instead of using
a repeater I use Zumspots, MMDVM hotspots and TGIF SPOTS. I
purchased the TGIF SPOTS from Robert in Florida in August &
December of 2023. They work extremely well and it's nice to be
able to change my WiFi connections from the front panel rather
than needing to connect to a computer. I also acquired a TYT
MD-UV-390 HT in a purchase from a local ham along with some
other equipment. That is shown below the MD-2017.

Another old rig from my collection is a Kenwood TH-31AT hand
held for 220 Mhz. The rig still works after all these years
(Shown below).

The above unit, the last relic in my collection of transceivers
is a Yaesu FT-470 dual band FM hand held radio. Like the Kenwood
HT this Yaesu HT continues to work just fine. In July of 2021
Icom was having a sale on the Icom IC-7100 units and so I
purchased a new one to try out. The rig is shown below.
I enjoyed the radio so much that when they ran another promo and
reduced the cost again, I bought a second one in April of 2022.
